August has come to a close, marking the end of summer and the start of a new season. For me at Nanamira Studio, it also marks the end of an exciting project: the redesign of Ivy Kyei-Poku’s website and brand identity for her blog, Brilliantly Ivy.
Ivy, an Associate Professor with a passion for inspiring and supporting scholars, wanted her online presence to reflect her unique blend of academic insights and lifestyle elegance. Her blog is more than just a space for scholarly conversation. It’s a vibrant platform where she shares unfiltered personal stories, practical tips, and fosters a sense of community for navigating academia with resilience and purpose.

The Brilliantly Ivy logo is a perfect symbol that captures the essence of Brilliantly Ivy’s mission to inspire and empower scholars, exuding modern elegance and creativity. The design cleverly merges elements of a book and an ivy plant, symbolizing knowledge, inspiration, and empowerment.
Color Palette:
We chose a warm and neutral palette that feels sophisticated yet approachable. It perfectly captures Brilliantly Ivy’s balance of scholarly elegance and inclusivity. The soft tones foster a calm, natural connection that aligns with the brand’s values and content.
Typography:
The selected typography for Brilliantly Ivy combines the classic elegance of Barlow with the versatility of Inter. Barlow, with its crisp lines and subtle geometric shapes, offers a timeless appeal that mirrors the sophistication of a well-crafted newspaper. Paired with Inter, a highly legible and approachable sans serif font, this combination evokes familiarity and reliability. Together, these fonts create a refined yet welcoming aesthetic that aligns perfectly with Brilliantly Ivy’s mission to inspire and empower scholars.
Strategic Content Update: We revamped the content throughout the site to better align with Ivy’s distinctive voice and brand. This involved refreshing texts, refining messaging, updating images, and creating supporting graphics. This update resulted in a more cohesive and engaging experience for her audience.
Enhancing User Experience: User-friendly design was key. We ensured that Ivy’s new site was easy to navigate and looked great on any device, providing a smooth experience for all visitors.
